London, 2nd of May, Gin distillers and professionals from around the world gathered at London's Guildhall for the annual dinner and spring installation of the Gin Guild.
The evening, celebrating the twelfth anniversary of the founding of the Guild of Gin Makers, began with the formal induction of new members representing global distillers from four continents including Japan, the USA, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Italy and the first member from Brazil.
Among the new gin brands sworn in were Catherine Jenkins' Welsh Cygnet Gin, Alpine Distilling from the US, Audemus Spirits from Cognac, British brands Hepple, Tipplemill Thirlings from Ad Gefrin and Japanese craft gin Amrta. Alex Watson, co-founder of Renais, has been appointed the 500th member of the Gin Makers Guild.
With the installation in spring 2024, the membership of distillers and industry professionals reached 526, and the Gin Makers Guild also welcomed British Consul General and author Amir Kotecha and hospitality industry legend Peter Dorelli as members.
Following the inauguration, guests at the Gin Industry Annual Dinner included representatives from more than 60 gin brands and guests including the first Gin Guild member John Burke and the great rectifier Desmond Payne MBE. The event also featured gins from all Guild members, taken from the Guild's historic bar.
