Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) gin
- 1/2 oz (15 mL) fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 oz (15 mL) simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until sugar dissolves)
- 4-6 ounces (120-180 ml) champagne or sparkling wine
- sliced lemon for garnish
- ice cubes
Instructions:
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour 1 1/2 ounces gin, 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice and 1/2 ounce simple syrup.
- Cover the shaker and shake all ingredients vigorously until well mixed and chilled.
- Fill a tall glass with ice.
- Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass filled with ice.
- Fill the glass with 4-6 ounces of champagne or sparkling wine, making sure it is filled to the brim.
- Garnish with a slice of lemon and serve immediately.
This drink should be consumed quickly as champagne or sparkling wine will deglaze over time. Enjoy!
